HIKING & CLIMBING
You will find two different types of mountain climbing in the valley of Puebla. One alternative consists of the 5,000-meter plus peaks such as Iztaccíhuatl or the Pico de Orizaba with their glaciers and ice fields. On the other hand, you can try going up the snow-covered (in winter) crags and forests of La Malinche, or the group of lower, highly scenic volcanoes in the area, especially those to the east and southeast of this mountain. One of the most notable is Las Derrumbadas, a good example of the violent volcanic activity that took place here in the past.
